Quarantine Blues

This collection focused on the isolation and loneliness affecting teenagers amidst the quarantine for COVID-19, as well as the ways they coped with their new normal. I took all of the photos seemingly without the subject's permission (although they all knew and consented to being photographed) to try to emulate real life and to resonate with the viewer – the viewer can hopefully see themselves doing the things that the subjects are doing, and thereby empathize with the subjects. I also took all the photos at night to add to the feeling of loneliness and isolation; during the day there are people walking around and dogs barking and life outside; whereas, at night, in the darkness, the loneliness can feel eternal.
